Pelé finished his career with 1.284 goals, the most ever for a footballer. Historians might argue that this record stands above any other in sports as the difficulty level, pressure, and excitement for each goal are so high. Idolized in the sport for his dribbling, acrobatic shots, kicking power, and ability to anticipate opponents’ moves, Pelé’s play brought people together from every corner of the world.
This was the first card of Pele issued by a widely known card manufacturer, Panini. Panini needs actually no introduction, but it´s a company headquartered in Modena, Italy founded by two brothers (Benito and Giuseppe Panini) in 1961. This card was issued with a white blank back as well as with the rarer Valida Back variation.
